Only a short bus ride, 25 miles north of Milan, is one of the most picturesque in all Italy – Lake Como Its shores are surrounded of charming towns and fabulous century-old villas, one larger and more ornate than the last. The bright water invites to sit down and take time to enjoy all that the lake, surrounded by lush landscapes have to offer. Lake Como being the third largest lake in Italy, I found not only quiet but magical. With its lush gardens and spectacular views of the Mediterranean, it is easy to see why he has earned a reputation as one of the most romantic getaways in Italy.
Traveling with My husband, son and daughter-in-law, we were all happy to reach the hotel he had booked for our stay. The Hotel Bellevue is our unanimous choice. Built in 1820 that residents of the majestic Villa Carlotta. On arrival we are pleased that the hotel was located just meters from the Lake Como The hotel itself was beautiful. His incantation, gardens, antique furniture and an outdoor pool. The lobby was stunning with a huge Venetian chandelier and a large wide staircase. Art adorned every wall. The rooms were beautiful, with antique furniture, and soft Italian linens.
After unpacking and settling into our rooms, it was time to explore. Just left the hotel when we spotted a charming restaurant called "The Victorian Tea Garden", which stood right on the shores of Lake Como We were sitting in a nice outdoor table covered with white tablecloths. To our delight, a vine-covered pergola general hung. But what really stole the stage was the point of view of breathtaking beauty of the Swiss Alps. These majestic mountains of the coast and in circles provided an impressive backdrop to the dark, marine blue waters of Lake Como That left us with the impression that he had traveled back in time. The owner – A gentleman who appeared in his 80s – was not very hospitable and made us feel more welcome. We Champaign, and toasted each other (and our superb environment) with tall glasses and chilled. We sat there in recognition and respect for the spectacular setting for the next two hours, finishing two bottles of Champagne!
With the sun beginning to set, we returned to the Hotel Bellevue for a relaxing dinner, fabulous. Then, to end the evening, we carried more than Bellagio, the famous and picturesque seaside villa in Italy. Narrow, cobbled streets were lined with antique shops, restaurants and churches. My advice? Do not leave without Bellagio visit the shops, and here are some of the most beautiful silk scarves and ties – not to mention the leather goods – in Italy.
There little traffic on Bellagio. This makes it ideal for walking and taking the view in Bellagio is totally unspoilt and has the grace and charm of "living the old world." Also was very clear that residents of Bellagio loved their gardens, and kept well maintained.
The broad area of Lake Como offers endless things to do for tourists. It is an ideal place for holidays with family. For those who desire relaxation, the peaceful landscape surrounding the lake is sure to please. Lake Como is also perfect for all those seeking a more active holiday, swimming, skiing, sailing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and hope. Day trip Mountain trips are also companies worth. These trips offer the most breathtaking views of the lake and its surroundings.
Boat tours of Lake Because they are a necessity. Ferry service takes you to the local monuments and exquisite villas and the beautiful lake towns (I recommend the picturesque town of Varenna.) Or, you can also choose an excursion by ferry to nearby Switzerland. The Swiss city of Lugano offers excellent shopping, although it is expensive, so bring the credit cards.
If the spectacular works of art, classical Italian gardens and elegant period setting their interests, I recommend a visit to the famous Villa Carlotta, located in the town of Tremezzo. Gardens offers spectacular scenery, while the town is a must for lovers of antiques. The Duomo, known as the "Renaissance Cathedral", is another spectacular must-see. It is located in the center of the city of Como
Shopping treasures adventures (and) we expect in any of the river towns, as epicurean delights. Taste regional produce such as olive oil, wine and cheese at the lakeside shops, restaurants, and cafes.
In the afternoon, enjoy a glass of wine in one of the local wine bars, and relax before dinner in one of many memorable restaurants in the area has to offer. Most restaurants offer regional cuisine and modern. After dinner, treat yourself to a night of music and dance in local clubs, most stay open until dawn. Or, as my family and I like to do, take an evening stroll along the lake before retiring to read a good book.
Lake Como is fabulous unlike anywhere else. It has spectacular views, lush, quiet surroundings, fine Italian architecture, charming been elegant, and warm, hospitable people. With her grace and charm intact, Lake Como offers guests the opportunity to experience a little charm of life is relaxed, elegant and striking beauty. It is a place to be established again and again.
